At Treatwell a client counts as new again after 365 days without a booking; at Fresha the fee also applies if the client first saw your Fresha profile and then booked via your website. Read the definition in the small print.
Google profile, Instagram and your own website bring bookings without commission. Put a free booking tool behind them — and the marketplace remains an optional extra channel.
On the marketplace your regular client also sees the competition with every booking. Move regulars to your own booking page as soon as they have visited once.
We check every tool against the same publicly verifiable criteria: Is there a permanently free version? Are there commissions or new-client fees? Can clients book without an account of their own? Are prices quoted in Swiss francs, is the interface available in German, French and Italian, where is the data stored, and can the contract be cancelled monthly? Every answer links to its source. What a provider does not state publicly, we do not rate — it appears as a dash. The score is the number of criteria met; a limitation counts as half.
Transparency: This comparison portal is published by beautyscout. beautyscout is itself a booking tool for beauty businesses and therefore sits at the top of every list — but the criteria are the same for everyone and verifiable. Prices and fees: as of September 2026, without guarantee; the providers' own information is authoritative. Please report errors or changes to info@beautyscout.ch.
Treatwell, with its Zurich office and TV advertising, has the widest reach in German-speaking Switzerland, Planity is strong in French-speaking Switzerland, and Salonkee runs its own marketplace with an office in Zug. Fresha lists comparatively few salons in Switzerland.
Treatwell: 35% on the first marketplace booking of every new client (plus VAT), 0% on repeat bookings and on bookings via its own widget, plus 2.5% on online prepayments. Fresha: a one-off 20% of the first appointment, minimum CHF 5, 0% via your own website.
No. Google charges nothing. In your Business Profile under "Bookings" you enter either a partner or your own booking link — for example your beautyscout page. Fees arise only if the connected tool charges them.
For a new salon in the city, a marketplace can speed up the launch. If your book is full, you mostly pay for clients who would have come anyway. Your own booking link on Google and Instagram is the commission-free foundation.
beautyscout is set up in ten minutes: booking page, calendar, reminders, client records. No credit card, no contract term.
